It is a pity that Windows 8 ships out without support for DVD and Blu-ray playback. Remember the outcry when Microsoft announced in 2006, shortly before the release of Windows Vista, that the spanking new operating system and its Windows Media Player would not support DVD, HD-DVD and Blu-ray playback out of the box? Well, the same is happening with Windows 8. To enable play Blu-ray on Windows 8 64-bit/32-bit, you have to buy/install Windows Media Center, or rely on one of the many third party solutions.

There are two popular methods to play Blu Ray movies on Windows 8 64-bit/32-bit as follows:

The Method 2 allows you to rip/convert Blu Ray discs on Windows 8 enables you to play, backup Blu Ray disc on Windows 8 64-bit/32-bit.
